Classes
Karate is an ancient martial art developed in Okinawa- Japan. The word Kara-te means “empty hand” when practising Karate no weapons are used. Karate employs a wide range of techniques such as strikes, joint-locks, throws, take-downs and ground-fighting techniques to overcome an opponent. The third son of an Indian king in the 6th century, he left his homeland and journeyed by boat and then on foot, from South India to China he is “Bodhidharma” a Buddhist monk He is traditionally credited as the transmitter of Chan Buddhism to China, and regarded as its first Chinese patriarch. According to Chinese legend, he also began the physical training of the monks of Shaolin Monastery that led to the creation of Shaolin kungfu. In Japan, he is known as Daruma. The most invasive influence on Okinawan martial arts came from China during their cultural exchange and trading between Japanese and Chinese.
Today Karate is practiced worldwide and it is also included into Olympics 2020. Karate can be practiced for Self Defence, Physical & Mental Fitness, Self Confidence and for competitions. By regular practice of Karate, students will develop discipline, respect, healthy life style and good morals.
